Participating artists will perform a wide range of pieces throughout the day around the Downtown Mall of Charlottesville, VA. These artists will be blended into the everyday theater of public space, each interpreting "matter" in a unique and compelling way. "Matter" has multiple meanings. It can be a physical material that can be manipulated. It can also be a descriptor to decipher what or who matters. Many of the projects of AiOP: MATTER address, interpret, and reconcile with the events that occurred here on August 11th and 12th, and the history of the Charlottesville leading up to them. Please join us to celebrate the Arts and their power to create change.
